Feeling lost, alone and
hesitant to seek out therapy
due to lack of representation?

How We Get Down

Black Align Self-discovery & Wellness fosters a culturally sacred and emotionally safe space where individuals of divergent backgrounds are encouraged to freely and candidly discuss their lived traumas. Through this work we unveil aspirations for healing in a conversational manner without fear of judgment, lack of understanding or misdiagnosis.

It’s simple… our therapeutic style is client-centered, strengths-based and trauma-informed. With restorative healing practices and accountability at our core, we strive to “hold you down” like only a healthy relationship can.

Why We Get Down

Far too often in the therapeutic space, BIPOC folk have been stigmatized, misunderstood, misdiagnosed, overmedicated and have had their individual experiences minimized. Black Align Self-discovery & Wellness was created with these truths in mind, prioritizing people of color while maintaining a full commitment to providing wellness services to those of diverse racial, ethnic, gender and religious identities.

The word is that our people enter and leave therapeutic spaces feeling lost, mishandled and hesitant to continue because of lack of representation. But, we speak your language. Come as you are. You deserve to be seen with authenticity, kindness and compassion.

We Got You.

The Rundown

Dashiya is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker who has ten years of educational and practical social work experience. This real-world application has only increased Dashiya's level of empathy and dedication to the field and individual clients. She's worked with varied and some of the most vulnerable populations including individuals experiencing homelessness, intimate partner violence, substance abuse/ misuse, crisis intervention, the formerly incarcerated and communities who have experienced gun violence.

Dashiya's sole mission is to prioritize people over diagnosis. She is known to integrate humor and to make song references in session, all the while mindfully holding space; meeting each client where they are on their healing journey. Though Dashiya specializes in working with the adult population who identify as female and Black, she is committed and equipped to provide therapeutic services to all by embracing all individual’s racial, ethnic and gender identities.

Foremost, Dashiya aims to debunk the negligent belief, that therapy is non-essential to healing racial, generational and family traumas; reshaping that narrative one therapy session at a time
